Bit6 Reports Strong Positive Response to Beta Program from App Developers
Preparing to release iOS software development kit (SDK) featuring real-time, rich media messaging by April 30th
HOUSTON, April 22, 2014 – Bit6 (www.bit6.com), which offers a communications platform that revolutionizes how developers integrate communications into their apps, today reported strong positive response from the app development community to its beta program. After reviewing applications, Bit6 is granting dozens of selected app developers early access to the Bit6 platform, which will make it possible to quickly and easily add voice/video calling, texting and multimedia messaging as a feature into their mobile and web applications.
"We are excited by the enthusiastic response from developers to our beta program. The use cases that these developers are proposing illustrate perfectly how integrating communications into apps can be game changing," said Alexey Goloshubin, CEO and CTO of Bit6. "For instance, apps for logistics companies can enable voice or messaging between driver and customer, and healthcare providers can use voice/video calling to gather information and consult with patients. After reviewing the beta applications, we can't wait to start working with these developers. We foresee endless possibilities."
Bit6 leverages the proven real-time cloud-based communications platform on which Voxofon's apps for iOS, Android, Windows and Blackberry were developed. The Bit6 platform provides a suite of essential application services including Identity Management, Social Map, and Virtual Wallet to help integrate the communication capabilities into a complete end-user experience.
With the developers ready to go, Bit6 is set to release its iOS SDK by April 30th, which will allow beta participants to integrate app-to-app messaging as well as picture, video, location and voice memo sharing as a feature into their apps. This will be the first of a regular series of releases from Bit6 that will continually increase functionality and add support for more platforms. Bit6 is targeting the public launch of its communications platform by mid-summer.
The real-time communications platform market is expected to reach $4.7 Billion by 2018. Research from Smith's Point Analytics LLC estimates that 56 percent of mobile developers want to integrate communications into their applications.
With the market for communications-enabled apps gaining momentum, Bit6 has been greeted enthusiastically since launching in March at SXSW Interactive. The company has briefed industry analysts, had a high profile at Monetizing OTT Services 2014 in London with multiple presentations, and presented at START Houston Startup Demo Day. Additionally, the Telecom Council has selected Bit6 to present at its Service Provider Innovation Forum in May.
