President of Houston Landscapes Unlimited Earns Irrigation Auditor Certification
SUGAR LAND, Texas, March 28, 2007 -- Dean Carpenter, president and founder of Houston Landscapes Unlimited, recently earned certification as a Landscape Irrigation Auditor. The certification, awarded by the Center for Irrigation Technology, indicates that Carpenter has participated in required training, passed a written examination and agreed to follow a specific Code of Ethics.
The long-term drought in many parts of Texas has increased awareness of the importance of water conservation. Certified Landscape Irrigation Auditors are more important than ever, with responsibilities that include developing system testing strategies, checking pressure and flow rates and conducting water application distribution tests. Auditors also compile water records, perform water-use studies, measure irrigated sites, determine irrigation water requirements, and estimate potential dollar and water savings, among other responsibilities.
"With so many issues surrounding water usage these days, we wanted to make sure we were being responsible with our projects," said Carpenter. "This certification provides our clients with assurance that they have a partner who understands advanced water-management practices and irrigation technology. We can take on large-scale projects without compromising the community or the environment."
The certification is part of Houston Landscapes Unlimited''s ongoing professional development initiative. With professional training and certifications, Houston Landscapes Unlimited can help customers beautify their properties while staying on the leading edge of reducing waste and improving efficiencies. It also enables the company to utilize more challenging landscape materials, such as sand, without compromising plant life.
