HOUSTON, October 15, 2012 – The call is out throughout Texas and Louisiana to clear some shelf space in refrigerators and on beer aisles as Saint Arnold Brewing Co. (www.saintarnold.com), the oldest craft brewery in Texas, plans to release two holiday favorites. Saint Arnold Pumpkinator and Saint Arnold Christmas Ale will begin appearing on store shelves and in restaurants this week.

Saint Arnold Pumpkinator is an Imperial Pumpkin Stout Ale that was originally released in 2010 as Saint Arnold Divine Reserve No. 9. It was added to Saint Arnold’s rotation of seasonals in October 2011 and quickly was judged among the best, winning a silver medal in the Pumpkin Beer category at the 2012 World Beer Cup.

“Pumpkinator has taken on a life of its own.  We have been fielding calls and e-mails from customers eager about this year’s release,” said Saint Arnold founder/brewer Brock Wagner. “This is the big, bad pumpkin beer for people who don’t like pumpkin beers – like me.  A lot of people have also taken to aging this beer, and at over 10 percent alcohol, this beer develops and mellows very nicely.”

Saint Arnold Pupkinator will be available in 22-ounce bombers sold separately or in 12-bomber cases and in limited draft. This year, Saint Arnold has produced twice as much Saint Arnold Pumpkinator than last year to accommodate high demand.

Also arriving this week is the 18th annual release of Saint Arnold Christmas Ale, which is available on tap and in 12-ounce bottles sold in six-packs and cases. Originally introduced into Saint Arnold’s rotation of seasonal brews in 1995, Saint Arnold Christmas Ale is rich and hearty with a malty sweetness from five different types of malted barley and pleasantly spicy bitterness from two different Pacific Northwest hop varieties. It is available throughout Texas at grocery and liquor stores, bars and restaurants.

“For many Texas families, keeping a supply of Saint Arnold Christmas Ale on hand has become part of their holiday tradition,” said Wagner. “We have even been sent pictures of Saint Arnold Christmas Ale being left for Santa by the fireplace, and second pictures showing proof that Santa drank it!”
