SAINT ARNOLD AGAIN A JUDGE’S FAVORITE AT WORLD BEER CUP

HOUSTON, April 19, 2004 – The staff at Saint Arnold Brewing Company has to make room on the wall for another important award. Judges at the World Beer Cup® awarded Saint Arnold a bronze medal in the Special Best Bitter category for Saint Arnold Amber Ale.

The World Beer Cup was held over the weekend in San Diego, Calif. The global beer competition evaluates brews from around the world.

“The World Beer Cup is the Olympics of beer competitions,” said Charlie Papazian, World Beer Cup and Association of Brewers founder. “The World Beer Cup was founded to create greater consumer awareness around the world about the quality and diversity displayed by the various beers of the world.”

The Association of Brewers (AOB) World Beer Cup 2004 competition received a record number of beer entries: 1,529 entries were entered from 365 breweries or distributors in 39 countries.

This brings the total for medals earned by Houston''s only microbrewery to nine over the past five years. At last year’s Great American Beer Festival (GABF), Saint Arnold Summer Pils won a silver and Saint Arnold Brown Ale won a bronze. Saint Arnold was one of a handful of craft breweries described by BEERWeek as “Consistent Winners” at the GABF.

Saint Arnold Brewing Company’s ten brews are made and sold by the company''s staff of 11 dedicated employees. The brewery is located at 2522 Fairway Park Drive and its free brewery tour and tasting is offered every Saturday at 1:00 P.M.
