Young Women’s Alliance Uses New Tendenci®-Powered Web Site to Manage Growth
Tendenci software’s membership management functions automate
many aspects of operating an association
AUSTIN, TEXAS, May 27, 2010 – The Austin, Texas-based Young Women’s Alliance is operated by volunteers so it looks for ways to streamline and automate tasks. So when the 350-member organization examined ways to improve its Web site, www.youngwomensalliance.org, Young Women’s Alliance selected Tendenci (www.tendenci.com) online management software to power the site.
Utilizing a template designed by Schipul – The Web Marketing Company, the new Web site has a clean, appealing look and is easy to navigate.
Along with Young Women’s Alliance’s monthly meetings, the Web site serves as a focal point for the organization. With Tendenci, the new Web site not only connects and updates members, it makes it easy for new members to join and pay, collects annual dues, and handles event promotion, registration and payment.
“As an organization run by volunteers, having a Tendenci-powered Web site is like having professional staff to do some of the time consuming things that nobody wants to do but have to get done,” said Lori Hodge, president of the Young Women’s Alliance. “With the help of our new website, we can expand our reach and make a deeper impact on the community by providing opportunities that empower professional women to discover their potential.”
The Web site also promotes the Young Women’s Alliance Foundation, which supports and empowers girls and young women in Central Texas. With Tendenci, donors can submit a monetary donation online and charge it to their credit card. The YWA Foundation awards scholarships and supports organizations dedicated to empowering, educating and enriching the lives of girls and young women through service, mentorship and grants.
With Tendenci’s easy-to-use content management system (CMS), Young Women’s Alliance volunteers can add and edit content without going through a third party. News announcements can be posted quickly and easily, and new job opportunities can be added to the organization’s online Job Board. Tendenci also enables site users to subscribe to be alerted to updates through the integrated Really Simple Syndication (RSS).
